Let’s immerse ourselves into this.
As you know, I love Jesus Christ so much. I love Jesus with all my heart. Ever since He appeared to me, He revolutionized my life. He rewrote the text of my life.
The other day, I was thinking hard about how Jesus was with His close friends—His disciples—and how they were discussing. If you study the life of Jesus, there is a pattern you can deduce from Him, especially how He used parables to answer questions.
Sometimes He answered questions indirectly. If you investigate the life of Jesus, you will notice these patterns clearly. I want us to dissect one.
Jesus asked His disciples a question. He said, “Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16).
Some of them replied, “You are Elijah,” and others said different things.
But Peter replied and said, “You are the Son of God.”
Jesus responded and said that flesh and blood did not reveal this, but His Father in heaven revealed it (Matthew 16).
So what does that entail?
Jehovah—God—through the Holy Spirit can put impressions within you, and as a result of that, those impressions generate through your thought process.
A moment later, Jesus began to talk about what would happen to Him—His suffering and death (Matthew 16). Peter rebuked Him.
And the Lord was very direct.
If you study the life of Jesus, you will find out that He is very direct. He does not do things in a deceptive manner. Immediately, Jesus rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan” (Matthew 16).
So what does this tell us?
This is what I want us to immerse ourselves in.
It means that our thoughts can be from God.
They can be from the Holy Spirit.
They can be from Jesus.
And they can also be from the devil.
So our thoughts are very powerful.
The Bible also reminds us that “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).
Our thoughts can be blessings, or they can be disastrous.
This shows that just as God can put thoughts within us, the enemy can also attempt to do the same thing. Scripture tells us that Satan also plants thoughts and lies (John 8:44).
What I’ve learned as a prophet of the Lord is that oftentimes I try to align my thoughts, especially when I am conscious of what is processing in me. I always check my thoughts with the fruit of the Spirit love, kindness, forgiveness, and peace (Galatians 5).
Thoughts that are generating in me, thoughts that are processing in me, I investigate them. And those that do not align with the fruit of the Spirit, I discard them.
The Bible also tells us to “take every thought captive” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
While your normal circumstances may want to override this, if you persist in doing this, you will find that you have an extremely peaceful mind. The Scripture says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You” (Isaiah 26:3).
You will find love in you.
You will find forgiveness in you.
This guides me to make the right decisions in my life.
I want to pray for you.
I pray that Jesus, who appeared to me, bless you, and that He enlightens your understanding.
God bless you.
