The prostitutes are entering the Kingdom of God ahead of you

I want to dissect a statement Jesus made
that prostitutes are entering the Kingdom of God ahead of you.

That’s what I want to talk about today: the prostitute entering the Kingdom of God ahead of you,. Jesus says this in Matthew 21:29–32, and this is deep.

Now, this has to do with the parable of the two sons, and Jesus sheds some light on it.

Matthew 21:28 says this is Jesus talking again.
Jesus said:

“What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’
He answered, ‘I will not.’ But later he changed his mind and went.
Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.
Which of the two did what his father wanted?”

They answered, “The first.”

And Jesus said to them:

“Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the Kingdom of God ahead of you.”
Matthew 21:31

This is where I want to shed some light.

In order for us to really understand this, we need to dissect it into pieces and see how we can weave this into our day-to-day application.

You need to understand that what Jesus is referring to here is the Gentiles and the Jews.

We already know the Gentiles, and we know the Jews.

So what does this mean?

If you take it further, the children in the parable represent groups of people.
And of course, the Bible tells us:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23

So the reason the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the Kingdom of God ahead of you is this:

The people who, at first, rejected the gospel, rejected Christ, didn’t believe
they lived in sin, they didn’t care about their sinful nature.

But later on, down the road, they repented.

And we know that John the Baptist came preaching repentance:

“Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven has come near.”
Matthew 3:2

Repentance means a change of mind.
When they changed their mind, they were forgiven, and they entered the Kingdom of God.

On the other hand, there is another group the second son.

This is the son that said, “Yes, father, I will go,”
but later on, did not do it.

This represents the Jewish nation, and even more, it represents Christians today, the body of Christ.

We are too quick to condemn.

We’re too quick.
Very, very, very religious just like the Pharisees.

And remember, Jesus was of their own nationality.

I firmly believe that the people we condemn today the ones people say,
“You are drunkards, you lie, you smoke, you steal, you fornicate, you do this and that”
those very people that religious folks condemn,
you will see them in heaven if they change their mind.

Don’t be too quick to condemn.
Don’t be too quick to look down on people.

Give people grace.

Sometimes we find this very difficult to give people grace.
But this is what I wanted to shed some light on today.

I pray that this blesses you, and that Jesus, who appeared to me, enlightens your understanding.
